Our People
Staff are critical to the success of any company, and the training, motivation and education of our personnel is the number one priority. Lighthouse Caledonia likes to show its pride in people, and appreciation of their contribution. “Lighthouse people” form a strong and cohesive group, with different but complementary skills. Most importantly, they represent many, many years of experience in aquaculture.
We know that no matter how good our technology or the quality of fish we breed, and no matter how comprehensive our quality control systems, the key to success lies in the commitment of our staff.
As with any farming business, the care we offer the live animals in our keeping, and the service we offer customers is dependant on the dedication and expertise of our team. Our company philosophy is that the staff involved in caring for our fish must have the competence, authority and confidence to take decisions involving their day to day welfare.
We pride ourselves on our ‘flat’ and flexible management structure. It means that all areas of the business are championed, and that top management staff are very close to the front-line workers who tend the fish. This means that staff at all levels work together to ensure that there is no administrative delay in dealing with welfare and operational decisions.
