Lighthouse Caledonia is a fully-integrated company which is engaged in farming Atlantic salmon, at all stages from smolt production through to harvesting, processing, smoking, packing and sale. Our hatcheries, farms and processing facilities are all located in Scotland.
The company was formed in November 2007 by combining the former Pan Fish Scotland, Fjord Seafood Scotland and selected assets of Marine Harvest Scotland.
Our marine farms are based on the west coast of Scotland and the Inner and Outer Hebrides, in areas with ideal growing conditions: clean, cool, tidal waters. Lighthouse will harvest around 24,000 tonnes of salmon in 2007, with a phased increase to around 30,000 tonnes by 2009. As one of the largest producers in Scotland, we enjoy a prominent and influential position, built on our excellent reputation.
We grow fish from egg to harvest, with access to some of the most modern hatchery facilities and optimal freshwater growing sites in Scotland. Our farms and processing facilities are concentrated in two major production clusters - the most coherent and cohesive grouping of salmon growing sites and processing facilities in Scotland, with unique logistical advantages.
We take pride in the sustainable and environmentally sensitive way in which we farm fish, and in our excellent relationships with stakeholders, particularly the owners of wild salmon and sea trout fisheries, and district fishery boards.
Lighthouse Caledonia is also immensely proud of its staff. The company’s prize-winning training scheme empowers staff at all levels to reach their full potential.
